Guess who Chelsea’s newest striker? No, it’s
not Wayne Rooney. It’s Samuel Eto’o!
Now here is the kicker:
Those who have been
supporting the Blues long enough, can
remember the Cameroonian’s comments about
their club.
Barcelona defeated Chelsea 2-1 in the second
round of the Champions League in the
2004/2005 season and before the second leg at
Stamford Bridge, Eto’o stoked the flames by
stating that:
“I’d rather sell groundnuts in my
village than to play for a pathetic team like
Chelsea.”
Chelsea went on to win 4-2 at home and nine
years later, the 31-year-old is holding a blue
shirt grinning.
Football is a funny old game, eh?
