Mikel Obi is about to get his British passport in October, and he’s turning all offers down for now to at least stay in Chelsea for him to obtain his passport first, which he is due to get in October. “Mikel will be a British citizen by October and that was one of the main considerations why he has opted to stay put at Chelsea at least for the time being. There are offers from clubs like Juventus, Galatasaray and Monaco, but he would rather get his passport before he considers any of them,” a close associate told africanFootball.com

The Appeal Court sitting in Enugu on Saturday 26th July, struck out four suits filed against the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) challenging the candidature of Governor Willie Obiano of Anambra at the November 2013 gubernatorial election. The Commissioner of Police, Kwara State, Mr Ambrose Aisabor, yesterday, paraded two suspects, among others, for dealing in human parts. The third person paraded was said to be an accomplice. An Air Algerie Flight AH 5017 which took off this morning from Burkina Faso's capital Ouagadougou has lost contact with traffic controllers.This happened 50 minutes after take off.. The company said in a notice posted on its website that the aircraft took off from Burkina Faso and was supposed to land in Algiers at 0510 (5am)local time but never reached its destination.... The Abia state police command has paraded, among others, a 27 year old undergraduate of Madonna University, Chijioke Ezebuiro, for allegedly killing his 87 year old father, Dr Emmanuel Ezebuiro. Speaking with newsmen in Umuahia, NigerianTribune reports that the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) ASP Geoffrey Ogbonna, who paraded the suspect alongside other cultists and robbers, said that Chijioke Ezebuiro  is the prime suspect as he was the only person in the house at the time of his late father’s death. Ogbonna said that the death occurred on June 30, 2014 at the deceased home at Umuoriehi, Isingwu in Umuahia North local government area and was reported to the police by one Ezebuiro Chimezie of the same address who said the deceased had been bed ridden for some years. The impeachment notice signed by 22 of the 24 members of the House was read at plenary yesterday. A 42-year- old housewife in Asaba, Delta State, simply identified as Monica (surname withheld) on Sunday threw caution to the wind when she engaged her 17 year-old daughter in a fight for allegedly snatching her boyfriend. Leadership reports that their fight drew attention as a crowd gathered to watch them on a popular busy road around St. Brigid’s Girls College, Asaba, Sunday afternoon. The mother was alleged to have snatched the daughter’s boyfriend, who works in one of the oil companies in Warri. The daughter became very furious when she heard that her boyfriend was caught pants down with her mother in an hotel in the state. The trouble between the mother and her daughter became aggravated when the lover boy began to act in a strange manner towards the girl.
